How To Invest In Sustainable Digital Printing That Is Eco Friendly

There have been numerous advancements in fabric digital printing methods. Most of these changes have been made with the aim of conserving the environment against a backdrop of sustained campaigns of conserving Mother Nature. Using radial extraction methods in the process helps to generate heat which can be channelled to the drying stage. Whenever this happens, close to 25% of energy is saved.

In the pre-treatment of media before creation of impressions, there are numerous chemicals used. Urea is one of these chemicals. Urea is a rich source of carbon dioxide which is now classified as a greenhouse gas. Conversion of urea to carbon dioxide occurs during the steaming process. Fortunately, there are newer, more environmentally friendly methods of pre-treatment that use a special type of foam.

Engraving is another important aspect of the process. This technique utilises laser energy to create the desired designs. It is a method which uses less energy and water than the other options that exist in the market. At the same time, the turnaround time is much shorter.

Apart from the adoption of laser energy, there are other alternatives to engraving that are being encouraged. The use of pigments is now preferred to dyes for printing. One of the major advantages of this technique is that both pre-treatment and post-treatment are not required. Conventional methods, in contrast, rely on pre-treatment to set the dyes. Other advantages include use of less water, chemicals and energy.
