The pupils learn, that the parabola is not only a boring theory mentioned in mathematics. Thay can see it often in their life. After the introduction to the equation of a quadratic function the meaning of the constants (movement in x-and y-direction, compression and stretching) will be cleared and the different forms of the equation of a parabola are introduced.
