Philippe R. Richard

Département de didactique, Faculté des sciences de l'éducation, Université de Montréal

CA - Canada

Philippe R. Richard works in mathematical education since 1988. He taught mathematics during several years at secondary school and college in Catalonia (Aula, Escola Europea), on top of worked in continuous teacher training with the first graphic calculator and interactive geometry software (Col·legi oficial de Doctors i Llicenciats de Catalunya). Since 2001, he is a professor in didactic of mathematics at the Faculté des sciences de l’éducation of the Université de Montréal, where he carries out, jointly with his colleagues of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a research on the interactive tutorial systems for the teaching and learning of the geometry. The term «geogebraTUTOR» indicates at the same time an interactive tutorial system (TUTOR) and an emergent approach for the competential and instrumented learning and training of dynamic geometry (geogebra). The interest of our project consists in joining the development to research in an original approach founded on the reciprocal adjustment process between the development of our system like technological instrument (geogebraTUTOR), and its use in didactic situations for the development of the instrumented thought.
